Practice makes perfect. We have been told that about every sport or activity we have ever done, and that we understand, right? Well, why do we think every aspect of our lives must be done perfectly the first time, or the tenth time or the fiftieth time? If practice makes perfect in activity, it must also apply to life.
Doctors operate practices, Dentists operate practices, Actors rehearse, bus drivers train. Yet we get so frustrated at ourselves when what we are doing in our professional lives, our relationships, our spiritual practices, seem to be going south and there is nothing we can do about it. What we can do about it is first stop beating ourselves up about it, and begin to see that every situation we face is a little (if not a lot) different. We can become aware of what seems to not be working, then begin a process to make it better. The process may be simply changing our thoughts about ourselves, or it may require bringing in a consultant to help us see what we are missing.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. I would like to suggest another definition of insanity is continuing to practice to fail!
At Choiceful Living Seminars, this is exactly what we do; help you to see where you are practicing to fail, where you are practicing to succeed and how to improve both.
